Title:Egyptian President El-Sisi pardons 712 prisoners

CAIRO: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has pardoned 712 prisoners, the state news agency MENA said on Wednesday, and security sources said many of those freed were youth jailed for anti-government protests.

Since coming to power in 2014, El-Sisi has presided over a sweeping crackdown on Islamist opponents and liberal activists that rights groups say is the worst period of political repression in Egyptian history.

Yemen's President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi affirmed support for the panel of experts created by the United Nations Security Committee that's aiming to resolve the Yemen crisis, Saudi state-news channel Al-Ekhbariya reported.   The Yemeni president, during his meeting on Tuesday with the Chairman of the group of experts, said that the government will work to facilitate the work of the panel and investigate the violations carried out by the Houthi militia.   Hadi said that the militia continues to violate international law by recruiting children for warfare and seizing humanitarian aid, as well as exploiting the needs of people.    Meanwhile, members of the panel said they will be visiting the interim capital Aden and will submit its next report in August. The report will look at violations and the smuggling of arms and missiles to the Houthis.
