[(Title)]Train crashes in Turkey, killing 10 and injuring 73: reports

Ten people have been killed and 73 injured in a train accident in north-west Turkey, local broadcasters quoted the health ministry undersecretary as saying.

The train, carrying 362 passengers, came off the rails after heavy rain and a landslide on the tracks, officials said.

Tekirdag governor Mehmet Ceylan said the wagons were derailed due to excessive rain.

Five wagons came off the tracks in a region near the Greek border, according to state-run Anadolu agency.

"Our wagon and all the others after ours are derailed," one unidentified passenger said.

Another unnamed survivor told the private DHA news agency she was riding in one of the cars when it went off the tracks.

"There were deaths immediately, people whose legs were crushed.

It was a horrible accident," DHA quoted her as saying.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's office said he had received information from the ministers of transport and interior about the incident, and sent condolences for those killed.

"A suburban train had an accident … due to a landfall.

Unfortunately we have fatalities and casualties," a statement from the prime minister's office said.
