[(Title)] US intelligence refutes media reports on alleged Russian spy working at American Embassy.

WASHINGTON, Augusts 3. /TASS/.

The United States Secret Service has flatly rejected a report from British daily The Guardian that a Russian citizen working on the staff of the US Embassy in Moscow had any access to classified data, a spokesperson for the American intelligence service told TASS.

美国特勤局发言人告诉塔斯社，美国特勤局严厉否认了英国《卫报》的一份报道，即在美国驻莫斯科大使馆工作的俄罗斯公民获得了机密数据。

The Guardian reported earlier that American counter-intelligence forces detected a Russian woman, who had been working for many years in the US Embassy in Moscow and had an access to classified information.

《卫报》早先报告称，美国反情报部队发现一名在美国驻莫斯科大使馆工作了很多年的俄罗斯妇女获得了机密情报。

"At no time, in any US Secret Service office, have FSNs [Foreign Service Nationals] been provided or placed in a position to obtain national security information," Mason Brayman, a spokesperson for the US Secret Service, told TASS.

The British daily alleged in its report that: "The Russian national had been hired by the US Secret Service and is understood to have had access to the agency's intranet and email systems, which gave her a potential window into highly confidential material including the schedules of the president and vice-president."

"The Secret Service is trying to hide the breach by firing [her]," The Guardian reported citing its anonymous source.

"The damage was already done but the senior management of the Secret Service did not conduct any internal investigation to assess the damage and to see if [she] recruited any other employees to provide her with more information."

The United States Secret Service Department of Homeland Security also denied later in the day allegations made in the report of the British daily.

"On Thursday, August 2, 2018, The Guardian published an article by Nick Hopkins entitled, Exclusive: 'Suspected Russian Spy Found Working at US Embassy in Moscow.' The article is wrought with irresponsible and inaccurate reporting based on the claims of 'anonymous' sources," according to the statement from the US Secret Service.

Early this year, the US Department of Justice indicted 13 individuals and three organizations in Russia with the alleged interference in the US presidential election in 2016.US President Donald Trump and his aides have repeatedly rejected allegations of any illegitimate contacts with Russian officials during his 2016 election campaign.Moscow has likewise refuted allegations about attempts to influence the US presidential election on numerous occasions.
