[(Title)] GACA woos British aviation companies to invest in Saudi Arabia.

LONDON — The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in cooperation with the British-Saudi Business Council held a meeting with major British civil aviation companies here, highlighting the investment opportunities in the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom in line with the Vision 2030.

Discussions at the  "Roundtable for Aviation Services Providers"  also focused on the specialized activities for foreign investments in the Kingdom's aviation sector, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

More than 60 representatives of the Saudi and British companies specialized in airport operation, technology systems, aviation services, building and construction, navigation systems, hospitality and free market attended the meeting.

Addressing the gathering, GACA President Abdul Hakeem Al-Tamimi unveiled the vast investment opportunities in the aviation sector and the air transport sector in the Kingdom as well as in the infrastructure projects such as building, construction and development of airports and opportunities to operate airports in addition to providing advanced services and consultancy in the fields of civil aviation in the Kingdom.

Tamimi stressed the keenness of the GACA to strengthen the pillars of the civil aviation industry in the Kingdom and harness the required capabilities to keep pace with the growth in air transport and attract international companies to invest in airport infrastructure.

He noted that the Kingdom is a global logistics center linking three continents and expecting to receive as many as 30 million Umrah pilgrims by 2030.
