TOKYO (REUTERS) - Asian stocks extended gains on Friday (Sept 21) after Wall Street's S&P 500 set a new all-time high, while the US dollar slipped as investors viewed Beijing's and Washington's fresh exchange of import tariffs as less harmful than initially feared.

在华尔街标准普尔500指数创下历史新高后，亚洲股市扩大了涨幅，同时美元下跌，因为投资者认为北京和华盛顿新的进口关税交换比最初担心的危害要小。

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.2 per cent in early trade, extending the recovery from its 14-month low hit on Sept 12 to 3.6 per cent.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.95 per cent while the S&P 500 gained 0.78 per cent, both hitting record highs.

The latest rally comes after new US and Chinese tariffs on each other's goods were set at lower rates this week than previously expected, raising hopes that hostilities between the world's two largest economies may be easing.
